The growth of children is related to the future of social development. A healthy and ecological environment plays a vital role in the growth of children. In order to promote the construction and development of children's gardens, both domestic and abroad, 2018 International Symposium of Development of Children 's Garden was held at the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden on Nov. 8 and 9.

The theme of this international symposium is “Nature-based children’s science education”.120 well-known science education popularization experts and scholars from 49 domestic and overseas scientific research institutions, design companies, colleges and universities, including The Morton Arboretum, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Montreal Botanical Garden, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, gathered to share and discuss the construction and development of children's botanical gardens through special reports, communication reports and wall posters.

The two-day academic symposium reached many consensuses, facilitated many cooperation projects and provided many references for promoting the construction and development of children's gardens.
