During April 27 (Thursday)-May 20 (Saturday), Chenshan Botanical Garden grandly held 2017 Shanghai International Rose Show. This rose show was sponsored by China Flower Association and Shanghai Greening & City Appearance Administration, organized by Chenshan Botanical Garden and the Rose Branch of China Flower Association, supported by Shanghai Tourism Administration, Songjiang District Government, Shanghai Sheshan National Tourism Resort and Shanghai Media Group's East Radio Center. 

This flower show's theme was "Blooming Roses, Sharing Peace". Six countries, i.e. Germany, France, Canada, America, Britain, Holland, were invited to take part in designing and arranging the exhibition. The entire exhibition's total area reached 50,000 square meters. The main tour route was 2km, went through eight rose exhibition areas, namely elegant floriculture, new rose species, European roses, linking up the Rose Garden, Quarry Garden, Exhibition Greenhouse Area from the entrance square at Gate 1. More than 800 varieties of rose and nearly 100 rose trees created a colorful kingdom of roses for tourists.

During the show, Chenshan Botanical Garden also planned eight theme events, including the lawn music festival, dream wedding show, spring photography competition, to enrich tourists' experience. In the meantime, 2017 Shanghai Rose International symposium was held, to track the latest international developments in the study and application of roses, promote the global rose industry's fast development.
