On April 27, as the 1st Shanghai International Rose show opened at Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, to better spread rose knowledge and culture to the public, the sponsor specially invited three domestic and foreign rose experts to give theme lectures on the rose, which was warmly supported by an audience of more than 100 people. 

There were three lectures, respectively, "Hybrid Breeding of Pesticide-Free Ornamental China Roses"  by Mr. Matthias Meilland, Board Chairman of the French company Meilland International, "Fresh Roses for the Belt and Road" by Prof. Zhang Zuoshuang, Chairman of China Rose Branch of China Flower Association, and "Report on Chenshan Botanical Garden's Current Collection of Rose Resources" by Liu Yang, engineer of Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden. After each lecture, there was a Q&A time to increase interaction between the audience and lecturers, which was well welcomed by the audiences.
