2017 International Symposium of Asian Herbaria

Introduction: To promote the development of herbaria, improve herbarium management and service standards, and maximize its professional and public functions, especially the technologizing, digitizing and sharing of modern resources of the herbaria, which will help the herbaria to provide better service for scientific research, science popularization and economic construction, we are planning to host the 2017 International Symposium of Asian Herbaria at Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, Shanghai, China, from Nov. 17thto Nov 19th 2017. The symposium will have the theme of “Exchange and Cooperate, Sharing and Development”. We will invite famous experts both domestic and abroad to share their latest progress on herbarium related works, including infrastructure, construction, management, digitalization and networking, exchange their ideas and cooperate in development and share knowledge of the Asian collections. We sincerely welcome researchers and managers of Asian herbaria and their staffs in the related field both at home and abroad to participate in this symposium. Details of invited speakers will be announced at the second round.

International Symposium of Development of Children’s Botanical Garden

Introduction:The growth of children is related to the future of social development. A healthy and ecological environment plays a vital role in the growth of children. Most children in the city live in an artificial environment from an early age, and far from the real nature. In order to promote the construction and development of children's botanical gardens both domestic and abroad, we are planning to host the International Symposium of Development of Children 's Botanical Garden at Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden (Shanghai Chenshan Plant Science Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences) , from Nov. 4th to 5th. We will discuss and share the successful experience on construction and cooperation, and promote children's education from the" over-protection "to" explore the world. " The symposium will have the theme of "Construction and Development of Children's Botanical Garden - Exploring Natural Green Space". We will invite numbers of famous experts and scholars both domestic and abroad to discuses and exchange the view on the topic of development and future of children's botanical garden, understanding the needs of plant knowledge of children on different ages, the design of children's botanical gardens based on children's perceptions, the design of popular science education activities in children's botanical gardens, and so on. We sincerely welcome the experts both domestic and abroad who work on science education research and construction of children's botanical gardens, and others who related to management to participate the symposium!

We are inviting you to join us for the upcoming international conference, IUFRO 2017 Genetics and Genomics of Fagaceae and Nothofagaceae. The participants will present and discuss the most recent findings and advances in the phylogenetics, genomics and conservation of the Fagaceae and Nothofagaceae families. This meeting will also serve as a platform for strengthening collaborations. In order to further promote the research efforts for the development and utilization of Rose resources, strengthen the international exchange and cooperation in rose research, promote the development and innovation of rose industrialization, 2017 Shanghai International Rose Symposium was held on April 27, at Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden The symposium's theme was "Innovation and Utilization of Rose Resources". The aim was to build a discussion platform for rose, strengthen international academic exchanges between rose experts in breeding, cultivation, gardening, culture and other aspects, track the latest international developments in rose research and application, improve the rose garden's level, so as to promote the rapid development, exhibition and application level of the national rose industry.
