Chenshan Hill was an excavation site for 30 years, beginning in the 1950’s. Two major pits were dug as stone was removed for construction elsewhere. As our garden has been developed, the large pit on the southwest corner of the hill was transformed into our beautiful Quarry Garden.
The Garden consists of four areas – lake, terrace, viewing platform and pool. It’s design includes post-industrial components, regional cultural features and botanical collections, forming together a lush and dramatic showcase of flowers, flowing water fall and native stone, enhanced with elegant contemporary new hardscape elements. It provides an excellent place to linger on a hot Shanghai summer.
